The MAABC Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 27 October 2012. The meeting was well attended by members from across the various groups, all keen to have their say in how the club should be run over the forthcoming year. A new Committee was elected for 2012/13, with many of this year's committee members reprising their roles, or stepping into new roles. The key changes of note are: Ian Roots elected as Captain Tim Burrows elected as Assistant Secretary Alice Poole and Gemma Peck elected as new members of the Committee Sarah Ulliott will take on the role of [...]
The Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships were held on 20-21 October 2012 at Dorney Lake. This was a new regatta, which promised a very high standard of racing as all athletes wishing to trial for the GB Squad this season were required to race in at least one event (excluding 2012 Olympians, although some of them did in fact race for their clubs). Fran Rawlins and Anna Roots travelled to Dorney to represent MAA [...]

We also had 3 crews finish within 0.4 seconds of each other, each finishing second or third in their respective categories, showing the real strength in depth of the women's squads. Gabriella Tose was keen to race at Worcester Autumn Regatta on the picturesque Severn below Worcester Cathedral and acquire at least one more ceramic pot before the end of the summer regatta season. She entered two races (WIM2 and WMastB) racing in a Worcester RC single. We are pleased to report that she won the WIM2 race - congratulations! - and missed the 2nd pot win by 6 feet!
