2015 Head Season Results – 2 Pennants!

It has been a busy and successful head season for the club with pennant wins in Hammersmith Head (WMasC) and Vets Head of the River Race (WMasB) Hammersmith Head - Sunday 1 March MAABC was represented by 4 club and 4 composite crews with the WMasC winning the WMasC/D/E pennant. Weekend sculling group

A new Weekend sculling group has formed and it is open to anyone who wants to go out at set times in a group structure.  The aim of this group is to put in mileage on the water in singles with intermittent coaching with the added safety of going out together. There is a basic requirement for sculling competency: scullers must be able to get to the Pink House and back ‘comfortably’ in a single. Quintin Head 31 January 2015

The Quintin head 2015 was probably one of the coldest races many of the participants had ever experienced.  May were on marshalling for over two hours, only warming up half way to Hammersmith. MAABC was represented in five crews, three club and two composites with other tideway clubs. The fastest crew on the day was the Men’s Masters D composite with Thames Tradesman. The High Performance women represented the club in WIM1 and WIM2 while the Masters women competed in the WMB-E category. Scullers Head presentation 10 December 2014

Lynda Elms and Cat Hart attended the Scullers Head presentation held at Vesta Rowing Club on 10 December 2014 to collect their medals.  They also collected Caris March's medal as she was not able to make it. Lynda and Cat with their medals

Congratulations to Caris Marsh (WIM1 Lwt), Cat Hart (W Mas A) and Lynda Elms (W Mas F/G) for winning pennants in this years Scullers Head.  A fantastic result from these athletes. Also, well done to all those who competed on a day where the conditions turned out much better than predicted. Unfortunately we had a number of withdrawals ahead of the race due to the fast flowing river which made the conditions a little tricky. Finish Pos. Wins at Teddington and Alton Autumn Heads – Saturday 22 November

Annabel, Emily, Beks and Lorna won the W IM2 4x in the first division at Teddington, beating their opposition from Putney Town by one and a half minutes!  The same crew also competed in W IM1 4x in the afternoon division but had no opposition for the race. Pam Delvalle came 3rd out of 4 in the W IM2 1x in Division 1. Louise Pattinson and Alice Poole travelled to Alton to compete in their Autumn head and won the W MasE 2x category. Well done all!
