Rowing Forum for Men and Women at Mortlake, Anglian and Alpha Boat Club

MAABC is starting a development programme under the direction of Director of Rowing, Valentin Piticariu. Following a successful year for the Women’s Squad, we are looking to build on this and also develop a Men’s Squad after nearly 10 years without one. MAABC Masters Win at Molesey Regatta

  MAABC crews, some young and others a bit older, raced at Molesey Regatta on 21st July with some success. It was an extremely hot day that was a challenge to all who took part. Our men's masters won F/G/H quads beating Thames in the first race and Kingston in the final. In both races the MAABC Masters H crew dominated and won comfortably. The crew consisted of Peter Hoile, Colin Cracknell, Keith Mahony and Andy Napier. Captain’s February Blog

After a bit of time off the air waves as we had Christmas and New Year and horrible water.  However painful it must be for all of you, I am back with my ramblings and observations as there is much activity going on at MAABC including some news about mixed crew racing -  firstly, you may have noticed that we are continuing to tidy up the boating area and fleet, we have said goodbye to the Phoebe Mason and that has gone to Putney High School – we will be focusing on the outside racks to tidy up the boats.  [...]

Autumn Notes September 26th

Dear All   I very much hope you all had a great summer: it was a special one with the Olympics and the marvellous results for Team GB – we marked the occasion with our BBQ and thank you to all who assisted and made it such a great success.   Before I turn to the return to Autumn/Winter training I would like to let the membership know that our much valued member Ken Williams has decided to step down as Club Rowing Safety Advisor from 30thSeptember 2016.  September marks 60 years since Ken starting rowing at Horseferry Rowing Club. Happy Easter to you all

Has Spring sprung yet?  I think it is trying although the forecast for the weekend as usual covers every scenario.  As ever, the club seems extremely busy.  We have the Boat Race Circus rumbling in this week – can all members be as considerate as possible whilst enjoying the publicity of our lovely club on the TV.  Make sure you tell friends to watch and advertise our club.
