MAABC Sportsmanship and Womens Head

I hope that you are all well after a massive flurry of activity for the Womens Head. All week our members had been anxiously looking at forecasts as to exactly what the conditions were likely to be. Mortlake Veterans training camp – Mimizan, France, May 2014

Next stop GB Trials

On the weekend of 18/19 October MAABC were represented by Fran Rawlins racing in a composite lightweight double with Charlotte Taylor of PTRC. After a solid time trial on the Saturday morning the double placing them in the A/B semi final they put in an outstanding race to be the only lightweight crew to make the A final beating the GB lightweight Squad 2x in the process who were forced into the B final. Success Grows

The MAABC women followed up their recent pairs head success with wins at Teddington Head on 2 November In the morning division Jenny Bizley secured a win in her Masters A/B 1x category with Lisa Kallal finishing a close 2nd in the same category The afternoon saw Mel Court Smith (racing under Walbrook but now represents MAABC) secure a win in her IM2 1x category with Jenny Bizley finishing her second head race of the day in 3rd in the same category (worth noting that Jenny had become unwell between her first and second race but decided to soldier on [...]

Women’s Masters Squad continue their winning streak at Weybridge Silver Sculls 2013

Following on from success at the pairs head a number of Masters crews competed at Weybridge Silver Sculls this weekend. Laura Campbell was on good form winning WMas D1x. Katarina Rolfsman and Anna Ramsden had a fast race to win the WMas B/C2x event and achieving the fastest women’s double time of the whole day. Also racing were Jo Gapper & Chrissie Greenhalgh, who came in 2nd in WMas B/C2x. Alice Poole & Louise Pattison raced at WMas E/F 2x coming in 4th out of 6 crews, making good progress on previous racing achievements.
